The Beer Prayer - A prayer you won’t find at your next AA meeting

I don’t know what people have against alchoholism. I mean it’s a fun sport and anyone can pay a trade-restricted price and join in all the festivities. It is also a great leveler, bringing men, women and sometimes underaged children of all ages, castes, creeds, nationalities and even religions together. Infact the great Indian poet Bachchan wrote a whole volume of verse on the virtues of the Madhushala (the Tavern) and explained in some detail the advantages of being a regular at your local pub (bair badhate mandir masjid, mail karati madhushala, The temple and the mosque divide but the tavern only unites). I guess beer-lovers in other parts of the world also agreed with the great poet-philosopher’s observation, and hence, they came up with a prayer dedicated to the creed of wine-loving themselves! Viva lager!
