Today, Reed Ghazala, a circuit-bent instrument designer, is attending the second annual Experimental Garage Sale at the Experimental Sound Studio, in Chicago. This is where his eYe project will be on display and go on sale thereafter. Reed’s eYe sculptures are available, pre-show, pre-eBay, for $150. The eyes in these sculptures are hand designed. All are glass.

Each eYe sculpture contains electronic circuitry to illuminate the eye from within. Typically, in one direction the switch will light the eye a constant color: purple, pink, maybe a blending of set colors. With the switch thrown in the opposite direction a chance spectrum of colors begins to flow, beautiful and mesmerizing.
