Studio unveils a table that destroys itself

Till date, I have seen many different tables. Although, I have never seen nor heard of any table that self destructs! Well, I guess there's a first for everything. So, here's the latest table top from Studio 1a.m.

The table top is structured as bunch of concrete pixels. Every time a table is produced, one pixel is removed. I guess this is how it self destructs. Going by these rules, the ultimate shape becomes more intricate as the table diminishes it's size.

The material used for this project is basically slag. It uses Walnut for it's base. In the limited edition series, the shape of the table will keep changing till it gets to the point where it is no longer aesthetically pleasing or practical. The edition number written on the table tells us the number of pixels that will be removed.

I probably should mention the fact that slag doesn't replace the cement in the concrete mix. Ash makes up for 40% of the cement. But, in the end you will still need more cement. Anyway, the self destruct table or rather table top is a pretty cool concept if you can figure this out!
