‘For your Eyes Only‘ is not just the name of a James Bond movie but a song title too. Nonetheless, it’s an awe-inspiring technique of watching videos. Yes, I am talking about the video glasses that enrich you with the ultimate private video watching experience. I have compiled a list of 10 video glasses, which have really given new dimension to the concept of video viewing.
You can find the biggest selection of Video Glasses at TheVideoGlasses.com

If you really don’t want any trespasser to watch what you are watching, you need to get the Digital Video Eyewear, which will just make you another Bond. The eyewear can be hooked to a DVD player, video iPod or your Zune.

The Digital Video Eyewear affixes two 320 x 240 video screens on comfy goggles. You could even watch the field-sequential content in 3D if the format is supported by DVD. I am impressed!

Fully compatible with 5th generation video iPoda, 4th generation iPods, AV outputs, Zune, Sony Playstations, Microsoft Xbox, and Nintendo Wii, the ZuneVD (aka the VGSD) lets you watch the videos on a 37-inch to 50-inch screen from 2 meters away. The eyewear weighs 119 grams and boasts an inimitable optics design for safe and comfortable use. Priced at $250.

Weighing just 80 grams, the Relaxview 4.0 mobile video eyewear lets you watch a 60-inch cinema screen from a distance of 3 meters. The unique device is compatible with iPod Video and PMPs like Archos, Creative (Zen Vision) and Microsoft Zune. Other than that, it works well with portable DVD players, PlayStation, Xbox 360, GameCube and Nintendo Wii. Priced at €439.00.

The lightweight, compact and reasonable personal video display device is compatible with PMPs, game consoles, cellular phones and PDAs. The company claims to give the users a feeling that they are enjoying crisp quality color video images on a 42-inch screen from a distance of seven feet.

LightVu eyewear has been specially designed to minimize the effects of cyber stress, which means there will be no dizziness or nausea. It is always a pleasure to watch big screens in miniature sunglasses.

This one is one step ahead of the LightVu as it lets you wear a 50-inch television. The eyewear comes with a dual video screens, built-in stylish stereo earbuds, and a rechargeable LiNH battery with up to 8 hours of battery life. It is fully functional with almost all video sources with video outputs, including your video iPod.

Weighing a mere 68 grams, the EzVision video IWear is perfect to be used anywhere-in a plane, in a car, or at home. It can also work with your XBox, Playstation, or Gamecube. Priced at $400.

The portable, affordable, sleek, and stylish Icuiti DV920 was the winner of a 2005 & 2006 Consumer Electronics Show Design Award. The video eyewear lets you enjoy flicker free video (920,000 pixel micro-LCD screens) and stunning 3D stereoscopic video. It comes compatible for use with your DVD player, Video iPod, Laptop, PC, A/V cell phone, multi-media player, or game console. It delivers 640 by 480 resolution in true color. Priced at $800.

The portable, affordable, high resolution i-glasses PC/SVGA Pro 3D head mounted display sports stereoscopic 3D computer imaging and is recommended for any 3D computer imaging. The device weighs a mere 7 ounces and fits on your head with ease. You’ll see VGA images on a virtual, gianntic screen, as large as a 70 inch monitor when viewed from a distance of 13 feet. The eyewear comes featuring adjustable headphones that throw our quality stereo sound in complete privacy. It is fully adaptable to almost all computer systems including laptops and PDAs. The i-glasses PC/SVGA Pro 3D can be used while wearing prescription eyewear. Priced at $1,199.

I don’t say these are the best but certainly a step in the right direction. The Lumus PD-20 offers a reflection from a Light-guide Optical Element (LOE) that is directly in the eye’s line of sight to the wearers instead of looking at the actual image source. The thing that appeals to me the most is the chic make of the Lumus PD-20, which you will surely love to wear. The innovative technology behind the video glasses will let the users enjoy the nig screen experience anywhere on the move.

This incredible and sleek eyewear from MicroOptical is an entertainer on the move. The set of portable video glasses is equipped with its own battery that attaches to the back of the iPod allowing you to watch 3 full length movies.

The eyewear features two Kopin full color, QVGA (320 x 240) CyberDisplay microdisplays and allows users to privately view movies or watch TV on a 12-inch screen from three feet away. The MyVu personal media viewer is compatible with 30G, 60G and now the 80G Apple iPod with video. Priced at $300.

It could be the way we will be watching our TV programmes and PC games in the near future. Toshiba has developed a giant full-faced helmet that weighs around three kilo and facilitates the wearer to see a full 360-degree view on a 40 cm dome-shaped fish-eye screen. The idea of full ‘360-degree viewing is fabulous but do you guys think it’s really fabulous with that gigantic 3 kg helmet on your head? It could have been a ground-breaking gizmo if they had made it a bit small. Anyway, this gadget might be on your head in the coming time when you will be watching your much-loved TV program or playing a computer game.

hi, i want to buy a pair of video glasses, but i want to be able to zoom in. in other words,i like watching an eighty inch screen from 7 feet, but would like the ability to watch a smaller monitor at a closer range. do these glasses provide that option?
haha....cool items...
I choose number 3... it is perfect for me.. you have a great blog..
The head video display scared me.
If you already use glasses what is your
recommendation? Thanks in advance.
Toshiba’s ‘360-degree’ head mounted display is weird to me :)
LOL the girl is almost breaking her neck, take that thing out of her head!
I also select to number 3. It’s really Nice looking.
The HDD Player Is Nice Theres Alot of Different Ones Available.... Ive acctully got a 2 terrabyte Masscool Media Player Ive chossen to install into my vehicle for the kids have something like 1500 movies on it and unlimited supply off music... I am now going to attempt to install power and video jacks for these video headsets and get rid of my LCDs...
It looks like Toshiba took a page from the screenplay of an antique movie when they designed their video helmut. Do you suppose they have Patrone on the payroll. M
Hey man
All great glass and it has very good design also comfortable design.
We like #3 because it is the civilian version of a functional tactical display.
Thing is, that one is not actually for sale (as far as I can find).
Lumus does not sale directly to the public. They make the core components for others to use in their products.
The picture here is the only one I have ever seen for that product. It is used everywhere and is from a Press release from Lumus in 2006.
I would still like to try them as I have one of those big eastern European heads and I have trouble with the fit of regular glasses.
Also, Since the screens are set at a specific distance from each other, How does this effect the eye sight after wearing them for a while. I believe that no 2 people’s eyes are the same distance apart. Are these screens adjustable ?? Will I be cross eyed when I take them off?? Will I have head aches ?? If anyone can answer these, It sure would help.
I do not really like movies but it looks a great especially number 3. I choose number 3.
Number 3 is really stunning.
Number 3 is sleek and looks better.
