You can call it the future of mobile video. This device is known as OWLE BUBO. OWLE is an abbreviation for Optical Widgets for Life Enhancement. This device, OWLE, was prototyped 4 months back and it goes on sale from today, with the extension BUBO and a price tag of $99.95. The idea behind this device is to use the parts used in a camcorder and make videography on iPhones more effective. OWLE Bubo comes with a standard hotshoe mount on top for LED lights, four tripod mounts and standard 37mm lens threading so that you can put your own lenses on it, in addition to the lens that the Bubo comes with. OWLE was started by Harold Smith and Graham Mcbain in Scottsdale, Arizona and also won the iFund “Most Promising Startup” award.

Ah! It’s that part of the day again. Sun is setting, the horizon is getting that orange tinge, and the last strains of sunset melting away. This reminds us that we have to leave our office desks and fulfill other responsibilities in life; to go home and rest, to rejuvenate our restless and weary mind after a days work. But before I leave this ink filled page (metaphorical), I will leave you with a few cool things I came across today and a really beautiful poem. Hope you enjoy as you read.
Every night
The horizon lights up;
Swirls of pink and orange;
Fading to blue and purple.
Few bother to look anymore;
At a blessing;
That only comes once a day.
Each sunset is different;
No two exactly alike;
Difference flows throughout;
While it is the only similarity.

If it was not for Mario, how would we have survived those boring and grueling hours, when the days were sweltering hot or our playfields were cloaked in dazzling white attire and we had to take a respite in our homes, during our childhood days? Like the zillions of Mario fans out there, I’m quiet a big Mario aficionado myself. But, all my enthusiasm and devotion seems dwarfed when it confronts that of Dirk VH. This guy created a whooping 5-foot, 9-inches tall gigantic Mario replica, the largest ever, that weighs in over 110 pounds and furthermore-amazingly- he finished it all in “LEGO-bricks.” Now, that’s some Mario. Named, the ‘Lego Mario’, this replica is pieced together with F-O-U-R-T-Y thousand Lego bricks. Phew! Didn’t he ever lose count? Well, 5′9″ may not seem so tall, but ‘it’ is ginormous comparatively, if you consider a few inches tall Mario, who’s jumpin’ around and squishing those little turtle-monsters. You still have a chance to prove your unparalleled passion for Mario, as this Lego Mario is up for auction. Still waiting……..

Hey, don’t freak out. This ain’t no Dracula victim. it’s just an awareness campaign for energy loss from items like electronic devices that are plugged in but not in use, powered by Vampire Powers.

Talk of cool, this Table of Sound is uber cool. With built in speakers that are meticulously infixed onto its curvy legs and a built in iPod Dock, this piece of furniture saves itself from being ‘just another shadowy wooden table’. Table of Sound is a great artistic finesse, shown by Wondering Boys, the designer, and it may eliminate the need of any home theater system if high quality speakers are used. The embedded speakers blend in with the design so beautifully, they are almost concealed from view. Moreover, you won’t need to plug in a multimedia player everytime you feel like listening to your favorite music. An iPod dock atop the table (or any PMP connected with a minijack) will directly give you an access to feet stomping music.

Being a geek can be a style statement sometimes (I wish!!). Don’t believe me? Then take a look at this “Blue Screen of Death belt” from Geek gone chic. As the name suggests Geek gone chic ‘invents’ stuff to make Geeks look cool (which is really a rarity). Their latest effort in this direction, the Blue Screen of Death belt a.k.a. stop Error, BSoD, Bluescreen, or Blue Screen of Doom belt, is finished with 1.25 inches wide cotton/acrylic blend webbing, with a 1.3″ x 1.75″ - clam style closure - buckle that houses an erroneous screen as shown by Windows (mostly) when it stumbles upon a grave system error. The displayed image is protected by a glossy seal, which prevents its attrition and makes it almost akin to reality.

Guess what could this be? A mobile phone! Well, take a closer look. Do you see that image in the device’s display, it’s an ultrasound image of a person’s internal organs and this tiny devise is a portable “ultrasound scanner” christened “Vscan” courtesy GE. Amazed? Yeah I know, I was too, when I saw this super squeezed version of a machine that occupied almost an entire room. This product was rolled out by General Electric’s CEO at Web 2.0 Summit. Vscan is aimed at helping doctors make house calls easier, so that the patient doesn’t have to face the trouble of visiting a clinic. The price, as of yet, is under wraps, but you can expect it to burn a hole in your pocket, should in case you think of buying it. Nevertheless, the very idea of every expecting parent owning this personal ultrasound scanner sounds great. So, desirous parents, start stocking up the moolah.

All you hot chicks out there, here’s a low down on the latest in thing in eye fashion. Now, spare yourself from the muss of those messy eyelash extensions and don these new fangled “LED eyelashes”, which will never let you crave for attention. Be it a nightclub, a rave or an all freak-out party at some friends’, you’ll be as conspicuous as the “statue of liberty” amidst all party animals. Speaking so, did I mention the real cool part? You can DIY one for yourself with any color LED or even multiple colored LEDs. So, you can now say to your archrival, “My LED is more vibrant than yours.”
This LED eyelash getup by Soomi Park is pretty neat, and uses a set of headphones to house the tilt sensor and other electronics. A little spirit gum goes a long way for affixing things to your face!

What you see above is not a photoshopped image! This is a real Nike sneaker replica, dubbed ‘Junk Dunk‘, conceived and built by Gabriel Dishaw, who is a distinguished Metal sculpture artist. I’m not sure how it feels to walk around in those shoes, but this is one hell of a (excruciating!) way to pay a tribute. Gabriel ‘constructed’ these ‘Frankensteinish Terminator’ replicas of his favorite Nike sneakers from old computer and typewriter parts and a few rusted sprockets and nuts. After examining the creativity on this thing, I must admit he’s an ardent fan of them Nike Sneakers. However so, there’s still no way in this friggin’ earth one can dunk in those, atleast if he doesn’t want to spend the entirety of his life in a wheel chair or in the least, end up with severed toes.

Is it Captain America? Is it Green Lantern? No! It’s Batman, just dressed like them. Why on this earth would he do that? The answer is simple: he didn’t you did it. Confused? Well let me put it simply to you guys, Arkham Asylum, as PC game allows anyone to clothe Batman in any which way he likes, as Green Lantern or Nightwig or even Captain America. If that’s not enough, you can try dressing him in a more colorful costume like the Batman Of Zur En Arrh outfit. Over at the official game forum they have given every trick and app on how to implement this feature in the game. But, this feature is only available in the demo version, for free! So, check out the thread and enjoy Green American Batman. LOL. All ‘Batman redressed’ Pics after the break.
