Let’s keep a balanced approach. Never mind the price ($200,000), cuz the majority of us can’t afford a pool table for a price like that. If not possess, we can at least take pride that technology has given us a platform where we can sit and enjoy the fruits of its advancements. Imagine, you’re face to face with the coolest pool table that’s way beyond your reach. Dubbed the “Obscura CueLight,” it is currently set up at the Esquire Ultimate Bachelor Pad. The price is a factor for its uniqueness, but it isn’t just another example of the tasteless extravagance for the rich. In the sense, that it has sensors and motion detectors with an overhead projector that can be configured to create hallucinating effects like ripples as the ball rolls to knock that corner pocket. Lego Star Wars chess set features two figures on one piece

Combining Legos with the sublime futurism of Star Wars for a game of chess, Hollywood’s Lego fan Brandon Griffith has got us a game of chess in a way too different, even more vivid than the other Star Wars pieces we seen gracing the chess boards previously. The New Hope Lego Chess weighs a whopping 25lbs and for peculiarity has those figures from the Galactic Empire clubbed in couples unlike the single standing pieces that we’ve seen all the way to our youth and till today for that matter. We’ve can’t guess what figures have been combined for what piece, but from what we read over from our friends at Makezine - “The king shows Luke and Leia together, while the queen has Han and Chewie. Some of the pieces are tiny vignettes–take the king’s bishop, which shows Ben Kenobi turning off the Death Star’s tractor beam.” Griffith’s Fickr set.

The Object Without a Story: Name says it all

The picture shown above is no optical illusion or any sort of trickery, but a very innovative design by two talented Brazilian designers Andrea Bandoni and Joana Meroz, who are persistently pursuing their aim of “bringing to light invisible design conventions and questioning their validity.” The latest design that embodies their eternal quest is called “The Object Without a Story.” This is a part of their ongoing project wherein they created “The Archetypical Vase” earlier, which was the epitome of their thorough analysis of the all the anecdotes about various designs objects in ancient era. But, The Object Without a Story, is discrete, since it is not inspired by any story, instead the incredible design leaves the beholder to form his own fantasy about it, as against trying to relate it with any narrative.

The designers, Andrea Bandoni and Joana Meroz firmly believe that all stories shape our vision of objects, without actually letting us witness them in the first place. So, they tried to create something that would be far from relatable to any narrative and which will leave us with our own fictive inventiveness . Here’s one such story about The Archetypical Vase:

The apparition of this vase first came in a fascinating yet disturbing dream: it was at the same time the child waiting to be born as well as being the very container of the child. The visceral image of an object pregnant with self-similar offspring transcends rational discourse. The Archetypical Vase’s sensual and feminine forms spin tales of creation, simultaneously capturing interpretations of the past and generating new myths for the future.

The all new DIY Decepticon is not a 'Transformer'

Haven’t you gotten bored of watching people make Transformer Autobots and nobody is paying attention to building a Transformer Decepticon? So, here is a newfangled DIY Decepticon by Gingerpete50, an Instructables user, who made this 7inches tall Transformer out of an old Motorola V600. Let me emphasize on the fact that this freaking cool DIY is completely constructed out of “Motorola V600 only”, except a few small things here and there. But, sadly this Decepticon is unable to transform back into V600; however still, it does have a Glowing LED, which is probably the only working thing. The yet “unnamed” Decepticon is also painted with a weathering paint to give it a ‘battle hardened little veteran’ feel. This tiny Transformer was DIYed because Gingerpete50 was unhappy with the unrecognizable spiky Decepticons and thought of revamping the original design. So, if you happen to have an old mobile phone, don’t just chuck it into the junk, make a Decepticon (or an Autobot, whatever you fancy) out of it. Scope further for more cool pics.

HowerDrone: The tiniest spaceship that can land on your palm

When highly evolved nano-aliens descend upon our planet to mine our plethora of carbon monoxide gasses they’ll surely be piloting something like this Mini HoverDrone. This is by far the smallest flying R/C device we’ve ever seen and it’s damn impressive in the air. With a diameter not much larger than a silver dollar and a single propeller on the bottom, the HoverDrone somehow manages to float in the air as it spins and flashes its blue LED.

Qatar Bid for 2022 FIFA World Cup

On December 2nd the executive committee of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) will decide the venues for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup. However, Qatar has emerged as an attractive and strong bid to host the greatest global soccer event in 2022.

Meanwhile, sports betting fans should take into consideration that the 2014 World Cup will be the second World Championship organized by Brazil after the one held in 1950, which was marked by the defeat of the “Seleção” against Uruguay (2 - 1) in the final at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Qatar aims to be the first country in the Middle East and the smallest since Uruguay in 1930 to organize a FIFA World Cup. This is why they introduced an interesting project showing 12 stadiums to be built if the FIFA choose Qatar as the host country.

Of these twelve stadiums, nine will be new and will have conceptual designs that would present a challenge to overcome the extreme climatic conditions. In addition, it has been said that five of them will be “monumental works” that require investments of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Temperature is one of the main obstacles to the nomination, taking into account that last summer in Qatar was the hottest in history, with one day in July when the temperature exceeded 50 ° C.

However, Qatar is planning to build stadiums with air conditioning to counteract the high temperatures of Doha, making the 2022 World Cup the first-ever air conditioned outdoor sporting event.

It is a system that works with solar technology and keeps a steady flow of cold air. The air-conditioned stadium with capacity for 86 thousand spectators would be ready in 2019, and would be surrounded by water, so you can get to the stadium via a new road and a new subway line.

Finally, the proposal says that the roofs of the stadiums will be closed to keep the temperature inside the stadium and the same system will be implemented in practices and all sports facilities.
