A not-so famous American proverb professes that a tree never hits an automobile except in self defense. I guess THIS monstrous tree has more self defense than it needs! Of course it would be an excellent idea to not go on and piss him off. But then again there are daredevils who just love a dumb challenge and can go to any extent to prove their manhood or DQ (dumbass quotient!). On another note, if we had one of these planted amongst a bunch of other endangered ones, perhaps we wont need to pay extra taxes to have security guards take care of illegal fellers and wood mafia, and perhaps global warming would be as extinct as a celeb without plastic surgery!

Wanna look like a walking talking billboard? Then you certainly might be interested in getting yourself one of these amazing wearable displays from a company called ‘EroGear’. Integrated in any jacket of your choice, the display features a software package that takes still images and exports them into a proprietary format for use with EroGear displays.

Video content is uploaded by first exporting a video file then running it through the software. To create the display content you can either input the text directly on the display controller for a scrolling ’stock-ticker’ like text animation, or you can pre-render text or graphic using video rendering programs Apple’s Motion 3 or Adobe After Effects, or you can choose content from a library of video content to be available for download like ring-tones for cell phones or CD-cover artwork in iTunes.

One of the first prototypes made by the company features an Armani Exchange lightweight running jacket with an 88×8 display resolution, a ‘lite’ display controller, a 2 hour battery and video patterns made by EroGear. The tailor made display jacket also houses optional add-ons like DMX support for synchronization of multiple displays, support for SD card for additional content storage and Audio reactivity which can sync animations or text by audio signals.

A control button on the display controller allows brightness adjustment of the display just in case you don’t wanna look like a total weirdo. Priced just under $1000, the transformable clothing allows you a degree of self-expression and customization unlike anything else in the market.

Japanese adventure supply company Ymup have come up with a clever little invention that claims to lighten mountaineers’ load by a hell lot. Touted as an alternative to bottled oxygen supplements, the company’s battery-powered oxygen generator makes good old O2 at 30 percent concentration and is meant to be inhaled via nozzle. Measuring about 6 inches by 9 inches by 2.5 inches, the pack weighs about 2.86 pounds, including batteries and can function in temperatures ranging from 41 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The firm claims that the battery lasts up to two hours, which makes us wonder if it can be used on a serious hike. Available in red, blue, and gray, the backpack will be officially launched on July 31, with prices ranging from $880 to $1,150.

Frankly, I’ve lost count of such incidents but a scary new art project from this artist who calls himself Robert The hopes to knock some sense (and the love of God) back into book philanderers. Reviving a dumped copy of Marshall McLuhan’s “The Medium is the Message”, the artists brings out the true objectives of his art which he himself words as an “Obsession with the semiotic erosion of meaning... Books (many culled from dumpsters and thrift store bins) are lovingly vandalized back to life so they can assert themselves against the culture which turned them into debris.”

Renowned American artist Kurt Wenner surprised commuters at London’s Waterloo Station with a remarkably life-life street painting that displayed millions of pounds spilling out of a vault on the wall of the concourse. The work was so realistic that a bunch of kids even tried to open the vault door only to find that wasn’t exactly real. The drawing, commissioned by comparethemarket.com to represent the £16 million they claim their customers have saved this year so far, looks even more stunning when viewed through 3D glasses.

If you think you saw almost everything in terms of strange car designs then you definitely need to have a look at Camper - the world’s lowest bus from Volkswagen. I really wonder how the people traveling in this would manage to land up inside as it is only of a meter height. Though the design signed by two famous specialists, Just Kampers and Andy Saunders, doesn’t show that it was created in three days. This bus is named as “Vancake” and one can get it painted in any shade of his choice. For the sunroof lovers there is no need to get disappointed as it has an electric one. I really look forward to this one for camping with all the relatives and friends.

You know how the environmentalists are all over the place these days preaching us endlessly about the values of getting closer to nature and being one with it? Well, I guess this dude took it rather literally and decided to let the tree get close to him by offering him a nice plane to seat his precious hind quarters on. Of course we can only guess the tree’s sentiments on being sat upon by a bearded dude in a hideous blue jumpsuit, but I’m sure it has the solace of being something of a local spectacle in its hometown being such a fine specimen of the art of Pooktre, or tree shaping and gets to pose for a lot of photo-ops with delicate and beautiful girls queuing up to be next to it!

Generally when we sit down to eat, the only thing we want to see naked is the chicken. But the summer heat is driving many New Yorkers to seek new dimensions of self expression and naked yoga and nude dining are becoming the fads to follow this summer. A handful of restaurants in the city are offering monthly naked meals held where diners’ motto is “no hot soup.” Even though the restaurant staff is required to be fully clothed under city regulations, the people they serve seem to be much more comfortable eating in the buff. And the nudists are not stopping at naked dining either.

Yoga and comic clubs too are seeking to shed their, er, inhibitions, and the best part about all this is that diners still place napkins in their laps, yoga mats are still in vogue even though clothes aren’t and the nude comics still have curtains rising and falling at their routine!
